Why drying out walls is important

Yes. The method is described in ÖNORM B 3355-2, which explicitly deals with electrophysical methods for wall drying – including requirements for electrode construction, field control, proof of action, monitoring and long-term behaviour. In addition, it is based on the technical principles of cathodic corrosion protection (KKS) according to DIN EN ISO 12696. This means that the method is technically legitimate, compliant with standards and technologically established.

The method is suitable for public, commercial and private buildings. The deep electrophysical process also achieves massive and heterogeneous wall structures – including quarry stone, natural stone and particularly thick wall cross-sections - regardless of pore structure, stone mix or joint formation.

The consumption is extremely low and can be read at any time on the display of the control unit and can be logged in the long term. A large single-family home typically requires around 2 watts (e.g. 10 volts at 200 mA). This corresponds to about 17.5 kWh per year – at €0.35/kWh, about €6 electricity costs per year. This makes the system one of the most energy-efficient active draining processes.

We offer a 20-year warranty on all installed electrodes and components. The precious metal anodes used are equipped with a defined series resistor and are completely embedded in certified anode mortar, which remains stable over the long term and permanently protects the masonry.

No. The procedure works with minimal interference with the building substance, without static risks and without chemical additives or harmful fields. It is one of the most gentle and at the same time most economical draining processes.

Below the foundation, we install cathodes (negative poles), which create a defined opposite pole zone and form a barrier line to below the foundation base – the moisture supply is thus reduced. Yes. The test certificate No. 2/18776 of the Federal Institute for Materials Testing (BAM) of 16.06.1978 documents studies by Siemens AG on active electroosmosis – more accurately referred to as electrophoresis. In tests on three test walls, an average moisture reduction of 95% was found within four months using wall electrodes and electronic control units.
